Malaria is a serious infectious disease caused by parasites of the genus Plasmodium. It is transmitted to humans through the bites of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes.

Common symptoms include fever, chills, headache, sweating, and fatigue. In severe cases, it can lead to complications like anemia, organ failure, or death if not treated promptly.

Malaria is most common in tropical and subtropical regions, especially in parts of Africa, including Tanzania. It can be prevented by avoiding mosquito bites (using nets, repellents) and treated with antimalarial medications.
